About Us

Lucky Sew and Sew was founded in late 2013, by a Mother and Daughter duo, Diane and Carly. Originally, fueled by their joint love affair with all things vintage and all things lingerie, they started to design lingerie based on original vintage pieces from their favourite eras - from the roaring 20's to the fantastic 80's. They have been designing and creating lingerie and accessories together ever since.

Carly only learnt to sew after her son was born in 2012, after falling in love with a vintage sewing pattern and deciding she needed to make herself a dress. She borrowed her Mums sewing machine and from that point on she was hooked. Diane has always sewn - from stunning swag and tail curtains to dressing up costumes for a tiny Carly many moons ago.

When Carly's daughter arrived in 2014, it didn't take long for her to become disheartened with the feeble offering of nursing bras available on the high street, and so she decided to design and create her own. The Lucky Muthah nursing bra was forged - Carly's most prized design to date.

Currently living an adventure in rural Spain, Carly and Diane spend their days sewing away in their home studio.

Aside from sewing ALL the lingerie for Lucky Sew and Sew, Carly also enjoys sewing as a hobby. You can keep up to date with her sewing projects right here on the blog.
